Friday Art Opening: Max Kauffman's Ramshackle Deluxe

One of my favorite Denver artists, Max Kauffman has a show opening Friday at street artist/graffiti writer Jolt's warehouse space, the . The title of the show Ramshackle Deluxe may have something do with the fact that Max, in addition to displaying his fantastic watercolor illustrations, has, with the help of his accomplice, referred to only as Brandon, constructed a three dimensional "tape shack", which Max describes in the following statement:
"The install focuses on the theme of a city built out of the ashes and relics of another time- cobbled doors, fence posts, tables and other wood is cobbled together to form a city striving to survive day to day. Built only with found objects and pillaged remnants of goods."
If you're expecting some sort of magical gypsy junkyard, where every turn down every trinket covered alley brings with it the chance of dangerous liasons then you're not alone friend. Keep your switchblade and imagination ready because Ramshackle Deluxe is literally just around the corner.
