Art Opening: "SUPER RELATIVE" tonight at Lisa Kowalski Gallery

Lisa Kowalski Gallery opens tonight with "SUPER-RELATIVE," featuring work of prolific gatherers Samuel Schimek and Andrew Novick. After last years impressively overwhelming collection of collections show, "The Astounding Problem of Andrew Novick," Novick releases yet another example of fascination and depth in numbers. Tonight Novick teams up with Schimek to display work in patterns, something overtly present in any and all collections, especially that of his own. This time Novick releases a stash of consumption memories, all celebratory cakes which he helped eat in the past 20 years. I heard about how many of these cake photos were included but I think it will be best to witness the abundance in person. While Novick is more of a documenter, Schimek also collects but sways on the side of re-purposing. In this case he gathered and altered what seems to be a lawn ornament theme, focusing on gnomes and owls. Both guys will show digital prints so we wont be able to appreciate there experience and collecting of objects in full, but still very interesting. Apparently there will be coffee and donuts served all night so get ready for a fun decorative event!
The opening is from 6-10 pm at the Lisa Kowalski Gallery, 2762 Walnut St., Denver, CO
