Illiterate Gone Wild

Apparently the word spread about the opening last Friday of Illiterate's debut exhibit: Where The Wild Things Art. The people came, and came and came and kept coming until the hallway at 82. S Broadway looked more like a busy bus terminal than an art gallery. In many ways Friday night's opening was another Illiterate arts event - doors opened at 7PM, renovations ended at 8PM and the place was packed with inquisitive faces by 9PM - the paramount difference from our past bashes; when we said goodbye at the end of the night, we could do so with a hospital farewell, "come back anytime". Below you can follow the course of the event from the lenses of Rachel Paton, Broox Pulford and Glorianna Schinagl.

One last swipe of the mop hoping people will come to dirty it up again.

Downstairs in the basement, Broox Pulfford and Max Kauffman got busy with brush and paint.
Behind the painted wall, a Wild Things installation prepared by Illiterate artist resident, Broox Pulford and some very crafty friends.
