Thursday = Film Night - Pick The Flick: Homeless

Thursday = Film Night - Pick The Flick: Homeless

Shut up. So I lost a stupid film competition because the two stoners who showed Illiterate's April Pick The Flick Film Night got bored during a movie about the perils of smoking marijuana. Big f$#@*%# deal! The real travesty is that now Illiterate's Director, inflated by his sham victory, has truly begun to show his inner charlattan *#$*rag colors, calling himself "The Director of Destruction" and claiming that he's going to make a two month sweep by beating this month's contender. DONT LET THAT F$*#TARD WIN!

MAY 20th's Theme: HOMELESS

The theme for this month is "Homeless" and of course the Illiterate boob who stepped up as the challenger isn't going to make it easy to vote for him and his title of choice. When you go around calling yourself Beau "the Beauner" Ritten, it makes you wander which dumpster Illiterate is diving in to rustle up it's complete lack of talent. Top that with Beauner's choice of Street Trash as his title, an 80's gore flick about alcoholic bums who are sold leftover Vietnam chemical warfare liquid as booze, and you realize that this self loathing doofus clearly misinterpreted the "B" in B Movies, as meaning something other than absolute "Bull$&*#".

On the other hand, your incompetent "Director of Destruction", Adam Gildar has once again chosen to appeal to your inner bourgiouse guilt complex by choosing a heartwrenching indie documentary called Dark Days.  This depiction of a group of NYC's homeless who turn an abandoned underground Amtrak station into a filth infested shantytown as people who actually deserve sympathy, clearly underscores the bleeding heart liberal douchebaggery that defines this so called creative community. At least in Street Trash when the bums succumb to their addictions they face serious consequences, like filling up with neon goo and exploding all over eachother. If only these two stupid competitors would do the same.

Boys, boys, homelessness is a tough topic to tackle. I think that in both of your infinite wisdoms have come up with different perspectives on the subject, one perspective being of satire, and the other of insight. Both are commendable. Although, impressed as I am by the thoughtful pick of our director, my own opinion is that if I want to cry during a movie, I want to cry among few people. It may also be good for discussion afterward. But, after all, I still feel that the 80's b-movie might be a lighthearted approach to the serious topic of homelessness, which is not going to change overnight, and it may also lead to discussion. I feel like laughter is the best choice for thurs. movie night, but then again, I am a diehard Toxic Avenger fan.
